Tips to Save Your Marriage

Marriage is not a game that if you no longer want to play you can just turn your back and walk away. No of course not! This is sacred so as much as possible you should try your best to work out the marriage. Your commitment is not only to your husband or wife but also to God.

You took your vow that you two will love each other no matter what so why give up because of a problem that you thought you couldn’t handle? Are you relating to this situation and have this “help save my marriage” thought all over your head?  Well, here are some tips to help you save your marriage:

1. Try to analyze what’s the problem – the first step that you should do is track down the root of your problems. What’s causing all the fights between you and your partner? Once you discovered this, do something to solve it.

For example, you realized that you being a nagger causes the problem then do something about it. Try to explain to your husband that you don’t mean to nag but he’s giving you reasons to do so. Explain to him that if only he’s going to be more open and honest to you then you will nag no more.

This way, you will be able to stop the fight before it gets worst. A simple fight of husband and wife can lead to divorce and do not allow this to happen to your marriage. Open communication is a good key to keep your marriage intact and safe.

2. Remember the reason you got married – when the relationship is new, you feel like you cannot live without your partner that’s why you decided to get married. However now that you are married you feel like you can’t take it no more? Do not entertain this thought.

What you should do is remember the reason why the two of you got married. Remember the strong love you have for each other and allow it to win over the differences that makes you fall apart.

3. Have a marriage counselling – are you the type of person who thinks “does couples counseling work?” well, if you doubt this idea because you haven’t tried it yet, maybe it is time to see the result yourself. If you and your partner continuously have fights out of the smallest things and you think this could be a sign of failed marriage then a great advice is to go and have a marriage counselling.

The facilitator will surely help you find your differences and work your way to compromise. If you already tried solving the problem with just the two of you but still nothing worked, maybe it is really best to consult the expert. Do not be ashamed to your friends that you are undergoing counselling because this only proves that you have the intentions to keep and save the marriage.

In fact, after few sessions with the counsellor you might already see positive results. You will start to see that your fights are no longer that intense, you see more the good in each other and most of all because of this counselling you’re able to rekindle the love you have for each other.

Save your marriage for as long as you can. Who said it is easy to love? But you know if you have faith and your love is strong, you can weather all the storms that will come your way.
